Passenger killed in car smash

A BIRMINGHAM man died in an horrific crash which has left another man, from Walsall, fighting for his life.

Five other people were injured in the smash which happened in Frizinghall, West Yorkshire.

A Subaru Impreza collided with an Audi A3 before spinning and hitting two people on the pavement.

The dead Birmingham man, who was in his 20s, was a passenger in the Subaru. He was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision which happened at 11.30pm on Tuesday.

Two men, aged 20 and 26, from Rotherham, are in intensive care in Bradford and a fourth man, from Walsall, is critically ill in hospital in Leeds.

The 27-year-old female driver of the Audi was also taken to hospital but her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

One of the pedestrians, a 41-year-old man from Shipley, is in a serious condition at Bradford Royal Infirmary.
