Dad speaks at hanging inquest

A FATHER who found his wife and two sons hanged at his family home gave evidence at an inquest into their deaths.

Shuhal Miah, from Birmingham, went into the witness box at the city's coroner's court to confirm the personal details of his spouse and their children.

Musannat Mumtahana aged 22, and her sons Reheem Miah, aged two, and Nahim Miah, aged one, were found dead at their home in Radnor Road, Handsworth, a week ago.

Mr Miah remained composed as he gave brief answers to a series of questions from Birmingham's Deputy Coroner, Christopher Ball, during today's 10-minute hearing.

The parcel sorter confirmed that his wife was born in Bangladesh.

Mr Ball released the bodies for a funeral to take place and adjourned the inquest to a date to be fixed.

In a statement issued by West Midlands Police last week, Mr Miah said: "I have suffered the most tragic loss that anyone could imagine.

"My wife was the most beautiful gentle person and my two beautiful sons were my pride and joy, who had their whole lives to live for.

"As anyone with children can imagine I am finding the loss impossible to comprehend."

Police are not looking for anyone else in connection with the deaths.
