Appeal after vicious thug beats OAP

The injured OAP. TR181006attack-1

PICTURED is the battered and bruised face of a pensioner who was left with a double fracture of the jaw and broken nose after being savagely beaten by a thug.

The 60-year-old widow, who is too terrified to be named, was battered by a man who tried to steal her car as she arrived at a Midland country pub car park to meet a friend.

Now her 31-year-old son has urged people to come forward and help police find the man who attacked her.

"She's got very bad facial injuries and we don't know yet whether she will need an operation," he said.

Her ordeal began around 1pm on Tuesday when a man ran up to her Volkswagen Golf after she had pulled onto the car park of the White Lion pub in Hampton-in-Arden.

The man demanded her keys and when she refused, began punching her in the face.

The offender is described as white, approximately 5ft 8in, and was wearing a dark hooded top pulled up with a dark bandana around his face and dark tracksuit bottoms.

Anyone with information can call Solihull CID on 0121 712 6080 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
