Four hurt after cars collide

FOUR people were taken to hospital after a two-car crash at a busy Birmingham road junction.

It happened at the junction of Bromford Lane and Tyburn Road last night, sparking traffic chaos.

A 64-year-old woman was taken to Heartlands Hospital with serious facial injuries, including a broken jaw. A male passenger was also hurt, though not seriously.

Firefighters from Ward End spent 45 minutes cutting out a young driver from the second car, a Nissan. He was not seriously injured and his young male passenger had minor leg injuries.
