Four held over teen stabbing

A TEENAGER is seriously ill in hospital after a suspected gang stabbing.

Two men and two women have been arrested following the attack in Lowmax Road, Hednesford, Cannock, at around 9.20pm last night.

Staffordshire Police said they were called to the scene by paramedics treating the victim, thought to be aged in his late teens or possibly early 20s, for stab wounds.

He was today said to be "seriously ill" in Stafford District General Hospital.

Detectives described yesterday's stabbing as a "public disorder incident" but have not shed any more light on how the victim, believed to be from Hednesford, came to be so badly injured.

Detectives will be carrying out door to door inquiries today in a bid to piece together what happened.

Det Ins Pete Wyatt, of Cannock CID, said: "Officers arrived at the scene to find a man being treated by paramedics and ambulance staff for stab wounds."

Any witnesses or anyone with information is asked to telephone Staffordshire Police on 08453 302010. ..SUPL:
