Woman grabbed by man at bus stop

A YOUNG woman was terrified when a man grabbed her around her face as she waited at a bus stop.

Police today appealed for witnesses to the attack on the 20-year-old at a bus stop in Church Hill Way, in the Church Hill area of Redditch.

PC Matt Davies, of West Mercia Police, said: "The victim was waiting at the bus stop when she saw a man on the other side of the road.

"He then crossed and stood next to her for about five minutes, before moving behind her and placing his right hand across her mouth.

"The victim screamed and the man ran off in the direction of Gems TV jewellery warehouse. The victim was very shaken but uninjured."

Police particularly want to speak to two young men who passed the victim a couple of minutes earlier and looked back when they heard her scream.

The attacker was white, 5ft 8ins to 6ft tall, in his 30s and bald. He was wearing a grey, hooded zip-up jacket, light blue jeans and white trainers and was carrying a Poundland bag.

Anyone with information about the incident, which happened at 4.15pm on October 19, should call PC Davies on 08457 444 888 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
