Man, 26, is charged with Ali murder

A SECOND man has been charged with murdering the disabled son of a prominent Labour party activist.

The 26-year-old Washwood Heath man was due before magistrates in Birmingham today accused of killing Shahnawaz Ali in January.

Mr Ali, aged 23, was found slumped on the ground outside his home in Oakwood Road, Sparkbrook, after being knifed in a street attack.

The attack came just days after the former pupil at Moseley School celebrated his 23rd birthday.

His dad, Choudhry Meharban Ali, a leading Labour Party activist, cradled his dying son in his arms after rushing outside when he heard the commotion.

A 23-year old man from Alum Rock as already been charged with murder and remanded in custody. ..SUPL:
