Thugs in bid to set flat alight
YOUNG thugs were today accused of risking lives by pushing a lit firework through the letterbox of a Birmingham home.
Police officers and fire experts today launched an investigation into the incident in Bierton Road, Yardley, which is being treated as suspected arson.
Neighbours raised the alarm after seeing smoke coming from under the doorway of the flat at 7pm yesterday.
Fire station officer John Bailey said: "Apparently the resident who lives there has a lot of grief from youths in the area."
