You shall go to the ball, pledges band

Johnny 2 Bad, who have played venues including Sydney Opera House and Birmingham's NIA, have invited up to 400 people who lost money to UK Balls Ltd to a private gig.

The concert will take place at Bloxwich Memorial Club in Harrison Street, Bloxwich, Walsall, next Thursday.

Johnny 2 Bad, comprising eight musicians from across Birmingham, were already due to play a gig that night but it was cancelled.

Manager Steve Hughes said: "When we saw in the Birmingham Mail what had happened to the customers of UK Balls we felt really sorry for them.

"The band has already paid for the PA system for next Thursday so we thought we might as well put it to good use and give people a party to remember."

UK Balls Ltd was supposed to be arranging a series of glittering balls over Christmas.

The company left its offices in Highfield Road, Edgbaston, earlier this month and is currently in the process of going into liquidation.

Anyone let down by UK Balls who wants to attend the gig can call Steve on 07779 257 295.
