Former rail worker goes on trial
THE trial of a former rail worker accused of vandalising trackside infrastructure was due to begin today.
Allan David Nicol, 48, from Yardley, Birmingham was appearing at the city's crown court after pleading not guilty to criminal damage and arson being reckless as to whether life would be endangered.
The offences are alleged to have been committed in June 2004 and November 2005.
