Paramedic saves stabbed teenager's life

A PARAMEDIC saved the life of a teenager who was stabbed at Redditch bus station.

West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to the bus station in Unicorn Hill, at 4.56pm on Thursday.

The 18-year-old victim had suffered a serious injury to his chest.

A spokesman for the ambulance service said today: "Rather than wait for the ambulance, she put the patient and a police officer in the rapid response car and took him on blue lights to the Alexander Hospital in Redditch.

"Her actions almost certainly saved the man's life as the hospital confirmed he had a life threatening condition that needed immediate surgical intervention."

A man has been arrested on suspicion of wounding.
