Parents fined over child seatbelts

PARENTS have been hit in the pocket after being caught not ensuring children were wearing seatbelts in their cars.

Earlier this month, Walsall Council road safety officers and police handed out a series of £30 on-the-spot fines to people collecting or dropping off children at Bentley West School and Sunshine Infants.

They have warned they will be visiting schools including Millfield Primary, Barcroft Primary and Ryders Hayes Primary, to give advice and punish offenders.

These schools have been targeted as police and road safety officers have received complaints about school gate congestion.
