Woman cut free from car crash

FIRE crews cut a woman free from the mangled wreckage of a car after a two vehicle smash in the Midlands.

The incident happened at Chantry Avenue, Bloxwich, just before 3.15pm yesterday.

A West Midlands Fire Service spokesman said the woman was believed to have back injuries and was taken to hospital.

He said: "One woman was trapped and one male was trapped. The female was extricated using cutting equipment and put on to a spinal board with possible back injuries."

He also said a man, who was believed to be suffering from whiplash, was taken by ambulance to hospital.

Fire crews from Walsall and Bloxwich went to the scene.
