Woman released in blackmail probe

A WOMAN arrested over a series of blackmail offences linked to Darley Oaks Farm in Newchurch, Staffordshire, has been freed pending further inquiries.

Staffordshire Police said the 34-year-old had been released and ordered to answer police bail in the county on May 8 over a series of threatening letters and emails linked to animal rights extremism.

Darley Oaks Farm bred guinea pigs for research until January last year.

The suspect was arrested at a residential address in Dorchester, Dorset, along with a 39-year-old man at about 6.30am on Thursday.

The man was freed without charge.
