Man cut free after crash

A ROAD in Birmingham was closed today after a collision between a milk float, car and a lorry.

Firefighters from Woodgate Valley, Northfield and West Bromwich, police and paramedics were called to the scene of the crash, in Clapgate Lane, Bartley Green, at around 6am.

"We had to cut the driver of the car free from the wreckage," said a spokesman for West Midlands Fire Service.

The male driver of the car suffered a broken leg and arm, as well as head injuries, which were not thought to be life-threatening.

The male driver of the milk float also suffered a leg injury and both casualties were taken to Selly Oak hospital by ambulance.

The driver of the seven-and-a-half tonne lorry escaped uninjured.
