Three charged over train driver injury

THREE people have been charged after a Birmingham train driver was seriously injured when a 22kg lump of masonry was dropped from a footbridge.

Joseph Paxton, 56, suffered severe facial injuries when a section of brickwork smashed the windscreen of the goods train he was driving in Kidderminster, Worcestershire, last December.

British Transport Police believe the block was dropped from a footbridge.

Kevin Clee, 21, Martin Clee, 18, and an unnamed 16-year-old, all from Kidderminster, have been charged in connection with the incident.

The three will appear before Kidderminster Magistrates' Court on March 30 charged with criminal damage being reckless as to endanger life.
