Plea over 'kidnapped' cat
THE owner of a £700 pedigree cat reported stolen in Birmingham has made a public appeal to track down her pet.
Gabby, a Russian Blue, was last seen in a car as it was driven away from outside her home in Baldwin Road, Kings Norton, on March 2.
Gabby's owner Linda Bartlett and her daughter Nova have launched a campaign to track her down.
Mrs Bartlett's 34-year-old daughter, who works as a TV camerawoman, said she bought Gabby and her brother Angel for her mother.
She said: "I bought two Russian Blue cats and paid £1,500 for the two of them. They are only eight-months-old. I let the cats out on March 2 at 10.15am and the cats started to wander around.
"They were out of my sight for a split second and when I came back out, I saw a black car and Angel did a back flip away from the car and I saw Gabby in the car with a woman, who then drove off with the cat."
Ms Bartlett said: "I found out there have been families in the area that steal pedigree animals to sell them and buy drugs."
