Cannabis found at factory

HUNDREDS of cannabis plants were found by police at a disused factory in the Midlands.

One man was arrested following yesterday's shock discovery at Brierley Hill.

It is the latest in a series of successful police swoops which have uncovered large scale cannabis operations in the Black Country.

In February, a cannabis factory was found at the disused Boat Inn in Anchor Road, Coseley, following an arson attack.

More recently, hundreds more plants were found in raids on two addresses at Wolverhampton - one at Lanesfield.

The latest cannabis find at Brierley Hill was made by police at about 9 am yesterday following a tip off from the public.

Officers were directed to Leys Road, Brockmoor after reports were received that a disused factory had been left insecure.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said today: "Officers discovered a large-scale hydroponics set-up."
