Three held after man stabbed in pub

A MAN was recovering in hospital today after he was stabbed as he drank in a pub.

The 41-year-old was rushed to hospital following the incident at the New Fullbrook pub, in West Bromwich Road, Walsall, at around 10.30pm yesterday.

The victim, who has not been named, is currently in a stable condition at Walsall's Manor Hospital.

Three people were arrested and are currently being quizzed by detectives at Walsall police station.

The pub, on the junction with The Broadway, was cordoned off by police.

It was expected to remain shut today as forensic examinations are carried out by scenes of crime officers.

A West Midlands Police spokeswoman said: "Police were called to the New Fullbrook pub following reports of a stabbing.

"A 41-year-old man was taken to hospital where his condition today is stable."

Two men, aged 39 and 18, and a 36-year-old woman have been arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent.
