Biker dies of injuries after smash

A BIRMINGHAM biker has died following a crash in a Midland country lane.

Anthony Liquorish, of Dovedale Road, Perry Common, was fatally injured when his Honda motorcycle collided with a van on the A515 at Newchurch, near Yoxall, Staffordshire, on Sunday afternoon.

The 54-year-old was airlifted to the University Hospital of North Staffordshire.

Staffordshire Police said Mr Liquorish lost his fight for life on Tuesday.

The driver of the white Renault Extra van and a passenger shocked but unhurt in the crash which happened shortly before 3pm near the A515 junction with Brackenhurst Road.

Police today renewed an appeal for witnesses. Anyone with information should telephone Staffordshire Police on 08453 302010.
