A cutting edge on the catwalk

CITY hairdressing students proved they were a cut above when they staged their own catwalk show.
Cutting edge styles were matched with fashions themed on superheroes, 80s disco and the animal kingdom by nine students from Birmingham College of Food, Tourism and Creative Studies.
Student Becci Elsmere, aged 21, said: "Staging the show was a great experience. It was good for us to see how much work goes on behind the scenes.
"Emotions were running quite high and it was stressful on the day but it went really smoothly."
The students had to stage the show as part of their foundation degree.
The event, held at The Jam House, also raised more than £70 for Cancer Research UK.
