Probe over body found in canal

A POLICE probe has been launched after a woman was found dead at Dudley in mysterious circumstances.

Susan Lloyd, aged 55, was found dead in a canal at Netherton on Monday just hours after leaving a nearby address.

Police, who are treating her death as unexplained, today appealed for the public's help as they tried to piece together her last movements.

A police spokesman said Mrs Lloyd was known to have left an address in Chichester Avenue, Netherton, at around midnight.

Officers were then called to a canal off nearby Northfield Road at 4.30am where her body was discovered.

"We are currently treating Mrs Lloyd's death as unexplained. No cause of death has yet been established," said the spokesman.

Mrs Lloyd is described as white with brown hair and she was wearing white three quarter length trousers and a pink long-sleeved top.

Anyone with information can call CID at Brierley Hill on 0845 113 5000.
