999 services to merge
STAFFORDSHIRE and West Midlands Ambulance services will merge on October 1, health chiefs have revealed.
The planned merger date was put forward by the two ambulance trusts, which are the two top performing in the country for response times.
Polls have shown there is a majority of support for the move by staff and the public.
