M-way smash victim came from Birmingham

A BIRMINGHAM man was one of three people killed in a horror motorway crash.

Police today named Collin Barton, 58, as among those killed in the crash which brought the M40 to a standstill in Buckinghamshire.

Eight vehicles were involved in the smash when a lorry travelling north ploughed through the central reservation and collided with oncoming traffic.

A total of 11 people were also injured in the collision between junctions three and four, near Beaconsfield, at 10.30am last Thursday.

They have all now been released from hospital.

Police were forced to close the motorway in both directions for six hours.

In a seperate incident, a man who died in a Bank Holiday crash on the M6 motorway was today named by police.

Jeffrey Glen Johnson, 43, of Stonefield Road, Wolverhampton, died following a crash on the A460 at junction 11 of the M6 motorway in Cannock last Monday.
