Extra city date for Cirque de Soleil

A NEW Birmingham date has been added for Cirque Du Soleil's breathtaking Delirium UK tour.

Tickets go on sale at 9am tomorrow for the new show at the NIA Arena on Wednesday, October 10.

The show has been added to two already sold out dates at the NIA on October 11 and 12.

Spokesman Phil Bowdery, senior vice-president of touring at Live Nation, said: "We are thrilled that even more fans can enjoy this breathtaking show.

"There is a tremendous buzz about the production. Delirium is unlike any show you have ever seen in your life."

Delirium is described as a visual, musical, and artistic extravaganza.

It wowed crowds across the across the US in a tour which spanned 30 cities.

It features an exciting mix of holograms, virtual reality, multi-media sound and imaging which create a magical world with a surreal, multi-sensory mix of theatre, dance, international music, acrobatics and video projections.

The show includes a 130ft stage honeycombed with traps and flying rigs so that actors can materialise from the depths, or float across an illuminated sky.

Cirque du Soleil handpicked Birmingham for the tour due its thriving cultural scene which marks a coup for the city. Cirque du Soleil previously hosted their Big Top show Saltimbanco at Star City in 2005 to sell-out crowds and rapturous acclaim.

Tickets, priced at £45 and £55 (subject to booking fee), are available on 0870 909 4144.
