Student charged over pregnant teenager murder

A DENTISTRY student from Solihull has been charged with the murder of a pregnant teenager.

Harmohinder Kaur Sanghera, 22, of Monastery Drive, has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Manchester Crown Court on July 13 for a plea and case management hearing.

She is accused of stabbing to death Sana Ali, 17 at her home in Throstle Grove, Bury, Greater Manchester, on May 11. Mrs Ali's unborn child also died in the attack.

A post-mortem examination revealed Mrs Ali died as a result of stab wounds to the chest and the abdomen.

Mrs Ali's 24-year-old husband, Sair Ali, and a 16-year-old boy were due to answer bail but have been told they do not face any charges.
