Musical youth on song for festival

THOUSANDS of talented youngsters from all over the UK are in Birmingham to make sweet music.

The National Festival of Music for Youth is the largest event of its kind in the world.

It has decided to make Birmingham its home throughout this week, with some 12,000 young musicians and singers performing across the city.

Together, they will perform around 800 different works during the six-day celebration of young peopleƕs music-making, with every style of music represented.

The 2007 National Festival takes place at Symphony Hall, Birmingham Conservatoire, the CBSO Centre and Carling Academy 2.

Music for Youth is a charity which provides free access to educational and performance opportunities for all kinds of young musicians through a UK-wide series of festivals.
