Targets report found in street by OAP

A SECURITY investigation has been launched after a confidential document detailing potential terror targets and West Midlands Police operations was found in a street by a pensioner.

Marked "confidential" and dated June 29 - the day of the recent unsuccessful London car bombing - the document outlined "key vulnerabilities" in Birmingham including hospitals, mosque and industrial sites.

It also revealed police operational details on what officers would need to take if they came across anything suspicious. The report was found by a 75-year-old woman who stumbled across it near one of the mentioned sites while walking her dogs last Wednesday.

Superintendent Mark Robinson, of Bournville Lane police station, refused to speculate how useful the document would be if it had got into the wrong hands. He said the loss was "regrettable"
