Six held in drugs raids

SIX people were arrested today for possessing Class A drugs following dawn raids by police on houses across Staffordshire.

Officers took part in Operation Thunder and targeted addresses in Tamworth, Lichfield, Burntwood, Burton and Uttoxeter.

A 17-year-old man was arrested at an address in Tamworth on suspicion of possession of a Class A drug with intent to supply.

A 33-year-old man and 24-year-old woman were arrested from an address in Chase Terrace, Burntwood for possession of methadone.

Three further arrests were made of a 38-year-old man, 40-year-old man and a 32-year-old woman from addresses in Burton for possession of heroin.

All four men and two women were taken into custody at Burton police station and are being quizzed.

Officers also seized quantities of heroin, cocaine and methadone from the whole operation.
