Suspected drugs den boarded up

A SUSPECTED drugs den, which made life a misery for neighbouring residents, has been shut down.

A flat in Bath Street, Caldmore, Walsall, has now been boarded up after the closure was approved by Walsall Magistrates last month.

Officers from the Caldmore neighbourhood policing team worked with Walsall Housing Group, the Anti-Social Behaviour Unit and residents over seven months to gather evidence to present to court.

Two warrants were executed, although no arrests have been made.

No drugs were found at the flat but police say paraphernalia and evidence of drug use was present.

Sgt Shirelle Morris from the Cald-more and Palfrey neighbourhood team said: "This flat has been the cause of many problems for local residents."
