Girl, six, hurt in road accident

A SIX-year-old girl was today recovering in hospital after being knocked down by a car in Birmingham.

She was injured outside St George's School in Calthorpe Road, Edgbaston, during the accident at around 4.20pm on Saturday.

Paramedic Ian Ashford, said: "The six-year-old girl, who comes from Sutton Coldfield, went over the bonnet and landed on the roadway.

"Fortunately her injuries were not too serious. She had cuts, bumps and bruises. As a precaution we immobilised her using a neck collar and spinal board.

"She was a very brave young lady considering what had happened to her."
