Man arrested after metal theft

POLICE have made another arrest as part of their Operation Steel, which aims to tackle an rise in the theft of metal in the West Midlands.

A 49-year-old man was arrested yesterday following an operation between West Midlands and Dyfed Powys Police.

This followed the discovery of a haul of metal and money in the Black Country last week.

A police spokesman said officers using a warrant went to commercial premises in Doctors Piece, Willenhall, last Thursday.

They were investigating the theft of a lorry from the Dyfed Powys Police area in Wales, which contained a metal load.

The arrested man is helping police with their inquiries.
