Sunshine is a carnival crowd puller
GOOD weather, good food and good fun guaranteed the success of this year's Weoley Castle Carnival.
Around 5,000 people turned out to enjoy the day's entertainment which included medieval sword fighting re-enactments, folk displays and dancing. There were also morris and Irish dancers, majorettes and charity stalls.
Organiser Mark Jastrzebski said: "It was absolutely fantastic. People turned out in droves.
"It was a real community effort aimed at making people take notice of Weoley Castle. We're not in the city centre so it's important to have events like this to make people here feel included."
He added: "We wouldn't be able to do it without all the community support and the help from our stewards and organisers and help from Birmingham City Council."
