Carnival atmosphere at basketball

SCROLL down to see video footage of players' reactions after the game at the NIA.

Great Britain's Andrew Betts is held back during the basketball international against Slovakia at the NIA.

THE NIA became a cauldron of colour and noise as thousands of fans turned out to cheer Great Britain basketball team to victory against Slovakia.

Horns, inflatable batons and painted faces all helped to create a carnival atmosphere at the huge city centre arena.

And the patriotic crowd certainly had plenty to cheer about with the GB team storming to a comfortable 25-point victory over the talented Baltic nation.

Star of the show on the night was Chicago Bulls player Luol Deng who was once again top scorer with a personal haul of 21.

Deng said "It was a fantastic atmosphere."
