Bike crash father 'a good guy'

A FATHER of four who was killed on his motorbike was today being mourned by hundreds of friends and colleagues who new him as "one life's good guys".

Adrian Gilliam, aged 36, was riding his Suzuki to TNT's depot in Hartlebury, near Kidderminster, when he collided with a car.

The nightshift worker leaves behind wife Jaspreet, four-month-old Sienna, Kelsey, three, Rikki, 12, and Brindley, 13.

A family tribute to Mr Gilliam, of Bristol Road, Netherton, Dudley, read: "Adrian was popular in the local area and will be sorely missed by family and friends."

Boss Adrian Avery, a close friend, said his team of 30 lorry packers were still in shock and were distraught.

"Adrian's tragic death is a great loss to his family and everyone here at TNT. He will be sorely missed by everyone.

"It is particularly devastating for his friends on the nightshift, who he was on his way to see.

"He got on with everyone in his team and really was one of life's good guys."

Mr Avery added: "I had the honour to shake his hand when he was awarded the load bay operative of the year at Christmas."

Mr Gilliam collided with a Ford Escort on the A451 Stourbridge road on the evening of Monday, August 20.

West Mercia Police have appealed for witnesses, especially the driver of a dark 4x4, possibly a Range Rover, which turned off the A451 into Hurcott Lane.
