Armed raider strikes at petrol station

A WOMAN petrol station cashier was left terrified after being held up by a robber wielding a gun.

The woman, who has not been identified, was confronted by the robber at the Esso petrol station in Worcester Road, Droitwich, at around 9pm on Monday.

He grabbed a small amount of cash before running off down an alley-way leading to Moreland Road. West Mercia Police, who have since been carrying out house-to-house inquiries, believe the weapon was a plastic replica hand gun.

Today they appealed for witnesses and said the gunman may have made his getaway in a car which was driven in or near Moreland Road. Anyone with information can call 08457 444 888 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
