Homeless cats give paws for thought...

Tinx the cat at Barnes Hill RSPCA home.

MOGGIES at a city animal home are hoping they're as lucky as Tinx.

The cute tabby has landed on her feet with a new home but many more like her are still stuck without a pad of their own.

She was brought into the RSPCA animal centre at Barnes Hill two weeks ago after being abandoned on wasteland.

Bosses at the centre said they have about 40 cats in need of loving new owners.

Becky Copestick, deputy manager, said: "They are all ages from kittens to older cats, of different temperaments, with some being overly fussy and others just looking for a quiet home.

"As pets, cats are really affectionate and quite independent as well. They look after themselves but when you want a cuddle they're there for you."

Becky said the problem of homeless cats could be helped if more people neutered them. While at the home Tinx underwent the op - hence the lampshade-shaped collar.

Anyone interested in taking on one of the cats should contact the home on 0870 753 8675.
