Funky moped! I'm famous in my city

ONE of Britain's best-loved comedians who has always stayed true to his Birmingham roots is preparing to be inducted into the city's Walk of Stars.

And with just ten days to go, the Birmingham Mail takes a look back at some of 62-year-old city legend Jasper Carrott's fondest moments in his native patch.

Jasper will be presented with the second star for Broad Street at Centenary Square from 7pm on Saturday, September 15.

It will followed by a free concert by the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, the Birmingham Royal Ballet and a firework finale as part of Artsfest 2007.
