3-way tie at top of the class

A BRAINY sister act is set to take Solihull School by storm when the Rhodes girls become the first female triplets on the roll.

Francesca, Georgina and Hannah Rhodes are set to prove that thrice is nice as they ride into the school's 447-year history books, taking with them their combined 32 GCSE passes at grades A* to B.

The 16-year-olds, who live in Soli-hull, have joined the sixth form at the Warwick Road independent school which was founded in 1560 and admitted girls in 2005.

They are continuing a family tradition at the school - their father Adam was a pupil from 1970 to 1980 and Adam's uncle Frank, now aged 80, was head boy.

The trio achieved 16 A*, 11 A and 5 B grades between them at Saint Martin's Girls School, in Brueton Avenue, Solihull, with Georgina among the top five in the country in Italian, Spanish and French.

Francesca is to study A-levels in French, English Literature, religious studies and history while Georgina takes Spanish, economics, chemistry and French.

Hannah is pursuing physical education, psychology, French and drama and theatre studies, and is also keen to take advantage of the school's hockey facilities as a county player while Georgina and Francesca exercise their vocal chords in musical productions.

Proud dad Adam Rhodes said he was delighted.

"It's great that our girls are going to my old school where they will be able to enjoy its superb teaching facilities and the wealth of opportunities on offer.'

Phillip Griffiths, Solihull School's headmaster, said: "We are delighted to be welcoming our first female triplets as we continue to develop as a successful independent co-educational school."
