'City needs more tourist attractions like this'

THE planned new high-adrenaline vertical theme park immediately won lots of fans in Birmingham city centre.

Richard Hartshorn, aged 22, a window fitter from Quinton, said: "I think it's brilliant. I'm looking to go travelling and this is the kind of thing I would expect to do when I'm abroad.

"If it's here on our doorstep then it will save me the air fare."

Luke McCarthy, 20, a hairdresser from Oldbury, said: "It would be a great tourist attraction for the city and it would create much more fun things for people to do here.

"It's the second-biggest city in the country but I think we need more tourist attractions like this to bring people in."

Roxanne Grogan, 18, a student from Stirchley, welcomed the futuristic building as an addition to the city's skyline.

"It looks like something out of science fiction,"

she said. "I think it's great. If there's bungee jumping there I would definitely go."

But Roxanne Gardner, also 18 and a call centre worker from Stechford, said: "I don't think it would be something I would want to do. I suppose it would be good for the city but I'm not particularly interested in it.

"You couldn't get me to jump off the top of a building."
