Four men arrested in dog fighting probe

FOUR men were arrested in Birmingham in a joint operation to target suspected organised dog fighting.

Police and officers from the RSPCA Special Operations Unit swooped on four addresses in the Sparkhill and Moseley areas of the city arresting one man at each address yesterday.

Two men were arrested on suspicion of dog fighting and of selling dogs banned under the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991 over the internet.

One of the men was also arrested on a charge of suspicion of possessing three pit bull-type dogs.

Two other men were arrested on suspicion of possessing a pit bull-type dog.
