MISS Birmingham Emily Hilton raced ahead of the field to beat off competition from 500 other girls to be crowned Miss Limo 2007.

The 18-year-old from Lower Gornal, near Dudley, entered the competition run to coincide with the European Limousine and Chauffeur Show at the NEC.

Part-time model and promotions girl Emily said she was thrilled to win the competition.

"I was just completely shocked because I really didn't expect it," she said.

"I always really enjoy entering this type of competition, it's such a great experience. I'm really pleased about it."

She was presented with £1,000, an MGF sports car for a year, a trip to gambling paradises Atlantic City and Las Vegas, a free promotional photo shoot and trips to London for a year.

The 500 girls were whittled down to 19 and had to go for an interview in Sutton Coldfield before the remaining nine faced each other in the final at Oceana.

Among the different sections of the competition were a swimwear competition, a dress to impress round and an evening-wear round.
