Four hurt in street fight

FOUR people suffered head injuries in a brawl in Birmingham.

Police and paramedics were called to Finnemore Road, Bordesley Green, at about 10pm yesterday.

Ambulance crews said they arrived to find four casualties who were suffering from head injuries, one of them serious.

All four were taken to Heartlands Hospital.

Det Insp Simon Vowles, of Stechford CID, said the injuries were not life-threatening.

"It appears as though there was some sort of fight and officers are investigating," he said.

"People have been injured but it is not yet clear what it is all about"

He said there were also reports of a machete being seen and a man suffering wounds to an arm.

It is understood police have been called to the road a number of times in recent months to deal with problems associated with an address.

In December last year, detectives police launched an investigation after residents in the road reported hearing sounds of gunshots.
