Miss, you ARE the strongest link...!

Weakest Link winner Carol Midwood with pupils Josh Norton, Gavin Smith, Rosie Drew, Dylan Krakowski and Philippa Jones at Redhill School in Stourbridge.

TEACHER Carol Midwood chalked up full marks with her pupils today after winning her TV battle with "Queen of Mean" Anne Robinson.

Millions of The Weakest Link viewers last night saw Carol, from Wollaston, Stourbridge, walk away with £2,760 after a sudden-death play-off.

And Carol's first thoughtwas that her pupils were not going to be able to say "Miss, you are the weakest link" when they arrived for school this morning.

Carol, aged 53, is a French teacher at Red Hill School in Stourbridge.

She said today that the programme was recorded back in May and she and husband John had already spent her winnings on a dream holiday to Thailand.

But Carol said the experience of going head-to-head with fearsome Anne was something she would never forget.

"I have never been so nervous in all my life and Anne Robinson, who we christened the Queen of Mean, is frightening.

"But I think I gave as good as I got and it was wonderful to come through it all and win."

"Obviously I was sworn to secrecy about the result but I watched the programme last night and I was tensing up all over again, even though I knew the outcome," she added.
