Asbos for teen twins

TWIN teenage boys who terrorised a Birmingham neighbourhood have been given anti social behaviour orders.

The 16-year-old youngsters - who cannot be named for legal reasons - appeared before district judge Joti Bopa Rai, at Birmingham Magistrates' Court yesterday, to hear the terms of their two-year orders.

The pair admitted to behaving in a way that was anti-social in the Kingstanding area of the city.

Judge Bopa Rai told the court the pair had been riding scooters up and down the road and they were part of a larger group playing football on common land.

She said: "Both of you had caused harassment, distress or alarm to the residents of Kingstanding.

"The reason for making the order is necessary to prevent both of you causing further nuisance."

The identical orders prohibit the twins from communicating with, threatening, assaulting or intimidating a number of people.

They were also told not to swear or shout abuse, damage property, not to drink alcohol in public and not to be part of a group of more than two other people. They were also ordered not to ride vehicles in public.
