Toddler badly injured in car accident

A TODDLER was today said to be "in a poorly condition" in hospital after being injured in an accident with a car in Walsall.

The three-year-old boy was with other pedestrians when yesterday's incident happened. He was in collision with a silver VW Golf.

The accident happened at about 12.40 am in Darlaston Road, Pleck, near to the junction with Reservoir Place.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said today: "The child, from Pleck, was taken to hospital with serious injuries, where he remains in a poorly condition."

He added that the driver of the car - a 23-year-old local man - was arrested and was bailed pending further inquiries.
