Queslett pub in Birmingham raises £3,000 for Guide Dogs for the Blind

Queslett manager Stewart Jones with Rocky the guide dog, and Pauline and Brian Kelsall with Halley and Elton.

A BIRMINGHAM pub has raised a whopping £3,000 for Guide Dogs for the Blind.

Stewart Jones, manager of The Queslett Pub, in Streetly, handed the money over to two representatives from the charity after fund- raising for 12 months.

And Stewart was able to meet Halley, a five-month-old trainee puppy guide dog. Guide Dogs for the Blind is a charity that is close to the hearts of the Queslett's customers as the previous manager lost the sight in one eye.

The pub raised funds by holding a raffle. A regular at the pub, Johnny Cartwright, also raised money by taking part in the Great North Run with four team members.
