Birmingham OAP on 1961 murder charge is remanded

A PENSIONER accused of murdering a teenage girl whose body was found on allotments in 1961 has made a brief appearance at Birmingham Crown Court.

Jacqueline Marie Thomas, aged 15, who is believed to have been sexually assaulted and strangled, was discovered in Bordesley Green on August 25, 1961.

Anthony Hall, 70, of no fixed address, was remanded in custody by judge Howard Morrison QC, and is due to appear in court again on February 26 next year.

Michael Burrows QC, for the prosecution, said police were still trying to trace witnesses in relation to the case.
