Car crash leaves two injured

TWO people were taken to hospital after their vehicle collided with another.

The accident happened on Yew Tree Lane, Solihull, at 1.10am yesterday.

Two ambulance crews, a paramedic officer and two BASICS emergency doctors were sent to the crash site.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said the two main casualties were believed to be men both in their 20s.

He said: "One was trapped and drifting in and out of consciousness. The other had chest injuries.

"Both were immobilised using neck collars and spinal boards before being taken to Heartlands Hospital for further assessment and treatment.

"One of the doctors travelled with the patient who had been trapped. The third patient didn't wish to travel to hospital but is understood to have gone independently for a check up."
