Roadworks warning for motorists in Willenhall

ROADWORKS in Willenhall, near Walsall, could cause problems for motorists, council officers warned today.

Walsall Council is carrying out the "essential maintenance works" on Monmer Lane and Ashm ore Lake Road, Willenhall.

Structural maintenance will be carried out from Tuesday to January 25 in a rolling programme of phased works.

The aim of the work is to strengthen the road and pavement and provide a new surface.

A council spokesman said: "To keep traffic disruption to an absolute minimum and to ensure the safety of both the workforce and the public, it is necessary to operate our works under two separate phases."

Clive Betts, Walsall Council group leader for highways maintenance, said: "We apologise in a dvance for any inconvenience."
